Milhouse. Mill house. Get it?
Ralph & Rosie (And A Vortex) is a nine minute stop motion animated short film created by MagicBoxMedia for Ryerson University. Hannah co-created, co-animated, directed, and edited the short.
”A young couple moving into their first apartment together are nervous about taking the next step in their relationship. The new home is not entirely what they expected and they begin to question the move altogether. As tensions build, they accidentally get sucked into their closet and pulled into a frightening Vortex. Each time they isolate themselves instead of working together to escape, they are bounced between three fantastical worlds reflective of their hidden fears and anxieties about their new future. To their surprise, the closet Vortex is revealed to be a lonely creature looking for stability and companionship himself. Eventually, they are able to escape and return to their apartment by learning to be okay with their new surroundings and conquering their fear of the unknown. “

As the assistant prop maker for this crafty TVOKIDS show, I really experienced the real hustle and bustle that comes with production on very tight timelines! Creating about 200 camera-ready props in one week, I’m extremely proud of this production and the work the incredible team and I accomplished.
